LOCAL GOVERNMENT/PUBLIC CONTRACTS

The firm has a great deal of experience in local government and government contracting matters.  Among the firm's experience in this field is the handling of such matters as:

• bid or specification preparation and/or analysis;
• obtaining and/or forming contracts;
• monitoring contract awards;
• contract administration;
• contract negotiations;
• contract dispute resolution;
• defense and prosecution of bid protests; and
• handling of construction claims.

The firm has experience in the representation of both sides of the government contracting equation.  In particular, the firm has, and continues to serve as:

• General Counsel to regional utilities authority handling all legal matters, including all aspects of public contracting, the preparation of resolutions; regulatory compliance, licensing and permitting advice; counseling in employment, labor, public finance and real estate matters; and the prosecution and/or defense of a variety of civil litigation; and
• Special Counsel to counties and other political subdivisions or agencies handling a variety of similar matters, as well as the defense of civil rights cases.
